Process Journal #5
Finally, i finished writing my research paper. It's been a long process, filled with a ton of hard work. I'm somewhat sad that I'm done with everything, but its nice to have closure. This will most likely be my last post. I would to thank everyone for all the help they have given me throughout this whole ordeal! Much love, and remember snow globes bring back memories!
Process Journal # 4
Today, three class mates and I went around the town square of Jackson Hole Wyo. doing field research. I was lucky enough to find a few snow globes at a shop downtown. We took a few pictures and continued on our way. I honestly didn't learn a whole lot about snow globes, but i did get the chance to see their beauty in real life, and it was so much better than looking at them on google images.
Process Journal # 3
This morning i woke up at 5:45, the witching hour for snow globe collecters. I then drove to my high school and met up with one of my moms darling friends. She just happens to be an avid Snow Globe collecter, lucky me! We talked about snow globes, and how her massive collection began. This woman now has a collection of over 250 snow globes. I learned more from her about snow globes than all of my field research. What a lucky find!
Process Journal # 2
Today in class, I was searching the internet for information on snow globe history, and I found a very exciting web site dedicated to snow globes and there early history. On this web-site there was contact information for a woman who seemed to be very dedicated to snow globes. I copied down her email and sent her some of my questions i had about snow globes. Sadly, its been over three weeks and I still haven't heard from her. :(
Process Journal # 1
Today in Ms. S's class, i ventured into the back of the room and discovered two books that talked about the early history of toys. I felt that these books could be used in my collectibles paper because snow globes have the ablility to keep people amused, just like toys do. The other book i found talked about why people collect things. I felt that this could be used in my paper because one of my main questions is what drives people to collect random things like snow globes.
